Finca

Finca

In the horizon, on the saddle of those mountains lies a bodega (Spanish for vineyard) – in the valley beneath, between two small streams (which still holds a little water here in June) – lies our finca. It is a ruin, there is no water, electricity and no internet. We will have to provide all of that. It is 6 ha. with olives and pastures – the escritura says almonds too, but I have seen none. Above us are the vineyards, so we will never run out of wine. The other neighbor the goat-herder (mentioned in our previous post) can provide fresh raw milk, and a little further down the road are avocados. Wild rabbits and quail roam the valley – loads of food there too. The only question left now is – what will we grow there?
